For the Busan Biennale 2018 the artist realized the work Busan 1:10,000 – a large collage of 160 blueprint copies the artist made of selected pages from a book (road traffic map) of the same title. Cutting out pieces representing sites bound up with collective as well as her own memories, she produced scattered, empty sections. She then rearranged these gaps, casting historic spots as well as personal experiences into concrete forms. Snapshots of street life of Busan from her archive complement the composition. Intertwining her own memories with fragmentary topographic guidance, the artist underscores the literary qualities of the city map, which now registers historical, social, and cultural references in unusual ways. Sticking fragmentary views of the city onto big panels, the city becomes rearranged as if seen through a kaleidoscope, or a prism.
